Swan Photographic Illustration
Photographic Illustration is a step beyond photography in that the artist paints with the camera; and the final image is
the result of pre-planned, multiple images, textures or colorizations. Prior to Photoshop this was done in the darkroom and many unique techniques
were brought to bear. Today, thanks to Photoshop, tedious hours in the dark and noxious chemicals are a thing of the past.
This pre-Photoshop photo-illustration was a compilation of three images, swan, sun, and fog along with colorization via the enlarger.
The enlarger head being removed and turned upside down beneath a camera stand. When the image was "completed", a 35mm slide was taken.
